Walk MS. Raising Funds at Pocono Raceway This Spring.

We have a goal this May 5th, 2013 at Pocono Raceway. A Fundraising Goal in the 'Walk MS' event will raise some life changing dollars and research finding dollars for people who are in great need. For the third consecutive year, Pocono Raceway in the town of Long Pond Pa of the Pocono Mountains will be the home of the MS Walk. Tie your best sneakers up tight for this once in a lifetime experience. Alongside 100s of local walkers in the Poconos, you will walk from 9 AM to 2 PM, three miles around the raceway. When you come to participate in the Walk MS event, all of the funds you raise will go towards helping and giving hope to more than 14,000 people living with MS in our community. What a fantastic way to get out with your local neighbors, and help out your fellow men and women in the Pocono Mountains. Come on down to Pocono Raceway and get involved with your community this May!

Mothers Day Brunch in the Pocono Mountains!

Mothers Day is that one special day out of the year to show your mother how much you appreciate, love, and respect her. Instead of the usual box of chocolates and flowers ( even though they always go over well with moms) why not bring her down to The Blakeslee Inn right off of Route 940 in Blakeslee of the Pocono Mountains!  There are some Fantastic Festivals coming this Summer Season of 2013 in the Pocono Mountains. Summer Season in the Poconos is when the Amenities such as pools and beaches open in the Pocono Communities, people get their boats out, there is fishing, camping, festivals, celebrations, and much more. The Shawnee Celtic Festival comes to Shawnee Mountain May 25th to May 26th 2013. All are welcome to this Irish extravaganza! The sights and sounds of the Emerald Isles and Scottish Highlands will be at Shawnee Mountain in the Poconos this Memorial Day Weekend! Enjoy non - stop Celtic music on 3 different stages, a bagpipers parade, celtic jam, working sheep dogs, Irish step dancers, and a wide variety of Celtic craft and food vendors. Celebrate Memorial Day with the Irish in the Pocono Mountains!

Jim Thorpe Birthday Celebration This May!

Saying Happy Birthday to one of the oldest towns in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania has become quite the tradition the past 18 years. Saturday May 18th to Sunday May 19th will be the weekend birthday celebration for the town of Jim Thorpe! The 18th Annual Jim Thorpe Birthday Celebration will be held at Josiah White Park in Jim Thorpe. The celebration starts with Native American tribute at the Jim Thorpe Mausoleum, followed by the carrying of the lighted torch by the Olympian Cross Country and Track Teams to the Jim Thorpe High School Stadium. The Birthday Weekend Celebration includes all types of party activities such as dancing, drumming, craft, food vendors, a clown for children, native american folklore, a large Chinese auction, and a headline show at The Opera House. Come be a part of this Pocono Celebration in Jim Thorpe!

Outdoor Adventures This Summer 2013 in the Poconos!

This Summer get ready for all the outdoor fun that goes along with being a part of the glorious Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. This June, one of the Pocono's oldest towns Jim Thorpe brings a fun filled adventure known as The Lehigh River SoJourn!The Lehigh River Sojourn is an educational whitewater rafting, canoeing, or kayaking trip down The Lehigh River. You will experience all of the treasures of nature, scenic views, visits from resident wildlife, and amazing recreational opportunities. The trip stretches from the rapids of The Lehigh Gorge and ends in the calming waters in Northampton. Fees include campsite, shuttle service, delicious meals, education programs, and entertainment for each day registered. The best part about this Pocono Adventure is that all of the proceeds go to The Wildlands Conservancy. A Great Trip for a Great Cause!

One of NASCAR's most competitive raceways for sure is Pocono Raceway! The Pocono Mountains turns into a party area during Race Weekend, and the weeks leading up to the Race itself. Many events and festivities take place all across the region getting us ready for the big race. Pocono Raceway will host the Big Pocono 400 Sprint Cup Race on June 9th, 2013. Pocono Raceway makes for an exciting race with its 3 turns each with its own degree of banking. They don't call it the tricky triangle for nothing! June 7th to June 9th there is a party in the Poconos!

Golfing Event For a Great Cause in the Poconos

The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau will be hosting the Pocono Mountains Hospitality Scholarship Golf Tournament at Great Bear Golf Club this Summer Season on June 19th, 2013. All of the proceeds of this Golfing Fundraiser will go towards The Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau Hospitality Scholarship Fund. Registration includes Green  Fees, Carts, Continental Breakfast, Cocktail Reception, BBQ Lunch, Awards Ceremony, and Raffle Prizes. Golfing for the Future of America Furthering their Education is a Fantastic Reason to hit the Golf Course this June in the Pocono Mountains!
